Have You Considered Vision Therapy at LiquidGym?

Blog

Vision therapy trains the eyes and the brain to work together. A programme is a series of visual exercises, each one chosen for the patient in front of us.

Who can we help?

Children reading below grade level, with ADD or ADHD and learning difficulties, or with coordination disorders.

Visual dysfunction — binocular vision problems, amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), convergence insufficiency.

Brain injuries — concussion and stroke.

Athletes and everyday individuals — eye-hand coordination and balance, multitasking, acuity, depth perception and 3D awareness.

Why do vision therapy?

An alternative to surgery. It is often the preferred approach because it gets at the root of the problem without the added risks or side effects.

Success and confidence. Developing visual skills can turn a struggling reader into a better learner and student.

How does it work?

The programme is a series of visual exercises tailored to the patient's visual needs. Vision therapists work with specialised lenses, prisms, patches, filters, balance boards and digital simulations to train the eye-brain connection.

Isn't 20/20 vision enough?

If a child has been told they have 20/20 sight, it means they can clearly see the letters on a chart twenty feet away. A child can excel at reading the letters on the wall and still lack the visual skills needed for reading, writing and learning — all of which affect how they do at school and in sport.
