An injury sustained during athletic competition can take a number of forms: ligament sprains, muscular strains and tears, contusions, bone bruises, fractures, bursitis, tendonitis, and concussion.
These injuries are also sustained well outside athletic competition. The care you receive does not change.
After an injury, the important thing is to seek the most appropriate help for it. The sooner rehabilitation starts, the better your chances of recovering faster and returning to your activity.
The quicker you start rehab, the better your chances of returning to your activity.

If you are going in for orthopedic surgery, a prehab programme may help with your recovery and post-surgical outcomes. It is never too early to start pre-op therapy.
Post-op therapy through hydrotherapy can generally begin once the incision has healed, which can be between 15 and 30 days depending on the surgery. Ask your doctor when they would like you to start.
Alongside water and land-based work, equipment available to support your recovery includes the Game Ready ice-compression unit, and the Normatec recovery system.

Rehabilitating these injuries in the water allows for:
Standing chest-deep in water, your body weight can be reduced by up to 80 percent. Someone weighing 200 pounds on land may weigh as little as 40 pounds in the water, which is what makes it possible to safely perform exercise therapy that land would not allow.
Sports injuries are treated across two of our therapies. Which one is right for you depends on the injury, the stage of healing, and what you are working back toward.
Assessment, hands-on treatment and a plan of care through the stages of healing, including pre-op and post-op programmes around orthopedic surgery.
