No. Physiotherapists are primary health care practitioners, so you can book directly. Some extended health insurance plans do require a referral — check your plan if you are unsure.

Complete your online assessment form before you arrive. Your first appointment is a land appointment, so shorts and a t-shirt or tank top are appropriate. Bring any relevant medical history, any reports or test results such as x-rays, ultrasound scans, or MRI reports, and your physician’s referral if you have one.

Your personal and family medical history, major illnesses, surgeries, current medications, your level of activity at work and in leisure, and your sleeping habits.

It may include blood pressure, pulse and breathing, reflexes, muscle strength, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, posture analysis, movement analysis, and a review of any x-rays.
