Conditions We Treat · Sprains, Strains & Fractures

Back to Movement Without Risking the Injury Again

For many people, a ligament sprain, a muscle strain or a bone fracture has a significant impact on their ability to pursue sport, an exercise programme, or ordinary day-to-day activity.

Proper rehabilitation of these orthopedic injuries is critical in preventing re-injury and in getting you back to pain-free movement.

Why Water May Be an Option

What the Water Makes Possible Sooner.

Aquatic Therapy alongside land-based training is a valuable tool in recovery from strains, sprains and fractures, whatever your activity level.

Rehabilitating these injuries in the water allows for:

  • Improved swelling and pain control through immersion
  • Resistance against all directions of movement at once, allowing improved muscle activation around the injured area
  • Decreased weight bearing, allowing greater freedom of movement during the early phases of recovery
  • Improved joint control, spatial awareness and balance through greater pressure feedback around the injured area
  • A safe, controlled environment to engage in rehabilitation exercises and treatment with confidence

Decreased weight bearing means movement can start earlier than land alone would allow.

More Than Water

Water Is One Half of the Plan.

Water work is combined with a land-based protocol and targeted hands-on manual therapy from your therapist. That combination is what makes the plan specific to your injury rather than generic to the diagnosis.

How These Injuries Are Treated Here

Two Ways In, Depending on Where You Are Starting.

Sprains, strains and fractures are treated across two of our therapies. Which one is right for you depends on the injury, the stage of healing, and what you are working back toward.

Physiotherapy

Assessment, hands-on treatment and a plan of care through the stages of healing, from early pain and swelling control to full return to movement.
