Kinesiologists in Ontario are recognised service providers under Program of Choice (POC) 12 — Related Health Services. If you are a veteran, you can train at LiquidGym under POC 12.
Did you know?
There are an estimated 224,400 veterans in Ontario who are clients of Veterans Affairs Canada, from both war service and the Canadian Armed Forces. Since February 28, 2011, kinesiologists in Ontario have been able to provide their services under Veterans Affairs Canada benefits.
What this means for veterans
- Under POC 12 you can be eligible for coverage of 20 kinesiology appointments per calendar year, as prescribed by a medical doctor.
- If you need more than that, your therapist can request approval to extend your programme with LiquidGym.
How do I know if I qualify?
You may qualify for treatment benefits if you:
- Receive a disability benefit
- Receive services through the Veterans Independence Program
- Receive financial assistance through the Long Term Care Program
- Receive the War Veterans Allowance
